MasQue- international mask theatre festival

Teatteri Metamorfoosi organizes an international mask theatre festival, MasQue, in Helsinki, every other year. The next festival will take place 20.-23.10.2011. The main venue of the festival is Stoa, the cultual centre of eastern Helsinki.

For four days , mask theatre companies from all around the world are invited to perform and discuss their work and meet other theatre professionals in the field of mask theatre.

The festival presents a broad variety of approaches, from experimental research to anthropological ritual. Alongside the festival, mask exhibitions, workshops and seminars with international speakers examine the challenges of the complex world of the mask.
