Corporeal Mime is a poetic and skillful form of physical theatre. At the heart of it is the idea of expressing the whole spectrum of humanity through the body, from concrete work to the abstract realm of dreams and thought. Corporeal Mime was created by the French theatre revolutionary Etienne Decroux (1898-1991).
Reetta Honkakoski is a Physical theatre practitioner and a Corporeal Mime artist from Helsinki. Their style is known for combining universal human themes with emotional intensity and rich physical expression. Reetta’s ensemble show The Desk (Pulpetti) received The Scotsman Fringe First Award at Edinburgh Fringe festival 2019.
Honkakoski specialized in Corporeal Mime for seven years in London, studying at the internationally acclaimed school of Theatre de L’Ange Fou. They were also one of the school’s assistant teachers in 2011-2013.
