MASK MAKING

Teatteri Metamorfoosi makes high-quality theatre masks for performances and pedagogical needs. Each mask is hand made with care and all the ready-made models are tested in practical theatre work. Our masks are dynamic and allow the actor to make the mask “alive”.

 

Occasionally we organize also mask-making workshops. The duration of the atelier is at least two weeks because we aim that the mask is professional level. According to Italian mask-making tradition, we plan the masks well, model the clay, take the plaster mold, do the paper lamination and do the finishing. At the end, we will test the newborn masks in the practical theatre work.

 

By request,  mask making workshops can also be part of the educational project in performing arts institutions.
